Rubbing alcohol is a powerful first-aid antiseptic that can be used to prevent and treat a wide range of ailments in animals; for example, one of the most common uses of surgical spirit on a farm is to help cure 'Scaly Leg'.
Scaly leg is just one skin issue that chickens can be affected by, but it is one of the most prominent. Caused by a parasitic infection, scaly leg can result in the bird becoming paralysed, which is why it is important to keep a reserve of surgical spirit close at hand.
NETTEX surgical spirit is an ideal solution to scaly leg and many other skin ailments in chickens and other livestock animals. Rubbing alcohol is especially easy to apply and has proven itself to be highly effective when used externally; but it should never be ingested or used to treat internal wounds.

Since lock down, I've been using this alcohol to disinfect surfaces. I researched it extensively and the staff at Tanner confirmed that it was not harmful for humans in the way I was using it. all round great product, great price and great service!
