When I first had my horse her owner suggested that I continued to use this as it was what she was used to. After a while I decided that she didn't need a calmer so I stopped using it. Within a few days the difference was apparent so I quickly bought more & started using it again. After restarting the difference wasn't instant; I had to wait for several days but it certainly worked. I have no idea how or why it works but it certainly does the job for us
